Joleen Bothma is a Data Science Consultant and Technical Writer at Datalance. She has a Master of Science in Statistics (Cum Laude) along with more than 4 years of experience in applied data science and analytics. In her day-to-day work, she focuses on turning complicated data into usable business insights that really help with decision making, operational efficiency, and business growth.

A big part of her role is building machine learning models, but also developing automated data pipelines with Python and cloud tooling like AWS. She also designs executive dashboards in Power BI, used for performance tracking and business intelligence. She has collaborated with both startups and more established organizations across areas such as finance, operations, and human resources to deliver data-driven solutions that actually fit the context.

Beyond the consulting part at Datalance, Joleen writes technical material on data science, machine learning, and analytics. Her goal is to make advanced ideas feel clearer, more approachable, and understandable for both technical and non-technical readers.
